Xephos or Lewis?
Xephos is the Minecraft avatar of Lewis Brindley in The Shadow of Israphel and other Yogscast videos. In Wonderland, you can either think of this as Lewis role playing as Xephos or as Xephos believing he is a gamer named Lewis playing a character. Either way, they are one and the same with Lewis being the Player’s name and Xephos being his Character’s. If Xephos thinks you are an NPC, he will refer to himself as Xephos. If he believes you to be another player like himself, he will use Lewis. Everyone by default is an NPC in his eyes which is why the narration will maintain Xephos as the main identity.

He will be a little confused if an NPC calls him Lewis but either name is all the same to him. He often forgets he looks like Commander William Riker of Star Trek: The Next Generation and is most easily confused by references to it.

Reality
Xephos’s reality is that of a character in an MMORPG. Multiple deaths, summoning items, and random quest objectives are all part of the game. You will not be able to convince him that Wonderland is not a game. The best you can do is convince him you are not an NPC. There really is no benefit to this other than perhaps getting more genuine answers to some questions and getting to call him Lewis without ridicule.

NPCs
NPC means Non Playable Character. In Shadow of Israphel, this has a slightly different connotation, though. Minecraft does not have interactive NPCs and so all of the characters in Shadow of Israphel are played by players. These players are part of the construction of the story and work off of a script. Though they may have to improvise according to how Xephos and Honeydew decide to play, they remain in character at all times and their main task is to keep the story on track. Xephos treats all NPCs as true NPCs, never referring to them as anything but their character name and in fact forgoing the reality of the game parameters outside a few cracks at terrible misspelling in the chat-speak. For this reason, it will be very difficult to convince him any character is not simply an NPC following their script. Being an NPC is pretty much the same as being a player in his mind, though, as a script is the only thing that sets him apart from them.
